Crypto prime brokerage FalconX is cutting 11% of its workforce as it shifts resources toward tokenized markets and on-chain financial services. CEO and co-founder Raghu Yarlagadda announced the job cuts alongside the company’s acquisition of blockchain infrastructure provider bloXroute on July 15.

FalconX said it will concentrate spending on selected services and use external partners for other parts of the business. The company has not disclosed how many employees are affected or which offices and roles face cuts.

FalconX Cuts Roles During Strategy Shift

Yarlagadda said the restructuring affects several parts of FalconX. The company is redirecting capital, technology, and staff toward tokenized markets and on-chain financial services. He said:

“With this shift, we have made the difficult decision to eliminate roles across parts of FalconX, affecting 11% of our workforce.”

FalconX said it would support employees leaving the company during the transition. It did not describe the cuts as a direct result of the bloXroute acquisition. It linked them to a wider decision about which services it will build itself and where it will work with outside partners.

bloXroute Deal Strengthens On-Chain Trading

FalconX acquired bloXroute to reduce transaction delays and strengthen its institutional platform’s connection to blockchain networks. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2017, bloXroute provides blockchain data and transaction infrastructure to market makers, exchanges, validators, and trading firms. bloXroute provides blockchain data and transaction-submission infrastructure, including protected-transaction tools designed to reduce front-running risk.

FalconX plans to use the infrastructure for trading, lending, financing, and prime brokerage services. The company said the infrastructure could reduce transaction delays and improve access to blockchain liquidity for institutional clients.

FalconX Expands Into Tokenized Markets

During 2026, FalconX expanded into trading services linked to oil, gold, silver, compute and select securities powered by on-chain capital markets. The company expects more financial assets to trade around the clock through blockchain infrastructure.

FalconX Bravo is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission as a swap dealer focused on cryptocurrency derivatives. The company also operates offices in New York, London, Hong Kong, Bengaluru, Singapore, Silicon Valley and Valletta.

FalconX has not provided a timeline for integrating bloXroute’s infrastructure or disclosed how the restructuring will affect individual business units.
