S&P Global Ratings has assigned its highest principal stability fund rating to BlackRock’s new tokenized money market fund, citing its high-quality assets, short maturity profile and management controls.

The BlackRock Daily Reinvestment Stablecoin Reserve Vehicle, known as BRSRV, received an AAAm rating on its August 3 launch date. BlackRock reported that the fund held $50 million and maintained a $1 net asset value as of August 4.

AAAm Rating Covers Principal Stability and Credit Risk

The AAAm grade represents S&P’s view that BRSRV has an extremely strong capacity to preserve principal and limit losses arising from credit risk.

S&P assessed the creditworthiness of the fund’s investments and counterparties, its portfolio maturity and BlackRock Advisors’ ability and policies for maintaining a stable net asset value. The agency identified no weaknesses in its assessment of management, credit research, risk controls or compliance.

The rating does not guarantee that BRSRV will maintain its $1 share price. BlackRock’s prospectus states that investors could lose money and that the fund is not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or another government agency.

BRSRV Held $50M and Maintained a $1 NAV After Launch

BRSRV invests all its assets in cash, U.S. Treasury obligations maturing within 93 days and overnight repurchase agreements secured by Treasury instruments.

Its portfolio must maintain a dollar-weighted average maturity of 60 days or less and a dollar-weighted average life of no more than 120 days. The fund intends to qualify as a government money market fund under Rule 2a-7.

BlackRock intends to operate BRSRV so its On-Chain Shares can qualify as reserve assets for payment stablecoin issuers under the GENIUS Act. Final eligibility remains subject to federal implementing rules that had not been completed when the prospectus was issued.

Whitelisted Shares Operate on Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo

BRSRV uses a permissioned system connected to Ethereum, Solana and Tempo, with additional networks potentially supported later. Securitize Transfer Agent maintains the fund’s official ownership records through blockchain entries and an associated off-chain identity register.

Only approved investors and whitelisted wallets can hold or transfer the tokenized shares. The transfer agent can restrict, reject or freeze transactions under applicable requirements.

The minimum initial investment is generally $3 million. S&P’s AAAm rating applies to BRSRV’s capacity to preserve principal and does not extend to any stablecoin whose issuer may hold the fund as a reserve asset.
