BitMart Withdrawals Slow After Exchange Announces Shutdown
Withdrawals from BitMart appeared to slow after the crypto exchange announced plans to end trading on August 26 and close its platform in January 2027.
On-chain tracker Lookonchain said only 58 wallets withdrew about $805,000 over more than 24 hours. It also observed an eight-hour window with no processed withdrawals, although the data does not prove that every customer request was delayed.
58 Wallets Withdrew About $805K After July 26 Notice
Lookonchain’s figures provide a public measure of withdrawal activity since BitMart announced its wind-down on July 26. The tracker did not identify the assets involved or estimate how many requests remained pending.
On-chain Lens reported a similar pattern. It said it found no withdrawals above $25,000 in Bitcoin, stablecoins or altcoins during the first 24 hours after the announcement. The firm also reported no large transfers linked to retail customers, market makers or listed projects.
User Reports of Delayed Withdrawals Remain Unverified
Some users and token projects have reported pending requests, frozen transactions and conflicting status messages. Those claims have not been independently verified.
BitMart has not published the number or value of withdrawals awaiting processing. That leaves on-chain activity, user reports and BitMart’s official notices as separate signals rather than confirmed proof of a platform-wide withdrawal bottleneck.
Compliance Reviews May Extend BitMart Withdrawal Times
BitMart said withdrawals remain available during the wind-down. Requests may face identity checks, blockchain risk analysis, sanctions screening, Travel Rule reviews and source-of-funds questions.
Heavy demand or requests for additional documents may lengthen processing times. BitMart has not stated how long standard or manually reviewed withdrawals should take.
It has also not explained the eight-hour pause observed by Lookonchain or confirmed that a platform-wide bottleneck exists.
August 26 Remains the Recommended Withdrawal Deadline
The exchange has advised users to complete identity verification, close open positions and submit withdrawal requests by 05:00 UTC on August 26. That date is a recommended deadline rather than the final cutoff.
Requests filed later will enter a separate processing procedure. Users now need to monitor transaction status and provide requested compliance documents before the exchange moves remaining requests into its post-trading review process.
Trading Ends Before January Platform Closure
BitMart stopped accepting new registrations, deposits and new trading orders on July 26. Futures accounts are operating in reduce-only mode, while spot, copy, grid, and API trading are being discontinued.
All trading services are scheduled to end at 01:00 UTC on August 26. The platform plans to cease operations at 15:59 UTC on January 31, 2027. Withdrawal activity will remain a key measure of the wind-down as customers move assets off the platform before trading ends.
