BitMart to End Trading Before January Shutdown

BitMart will shut down its cryptocurrency trading platform, ending all spot, futures, and other trading services at 01:00 UTC on August 26 before formally ceasing operations on January 31, 2027.

The exchange has already stopped taking new registrations, deposits, and trading orders. Users have until 01:00 UTC on August 26 to close positions before trading ends.

New Orders and Deposits Stopped on July 26

BitMart began its wind-down at 01:30 UTC on July 26. Futures accounts have entered reduce-only mode, preventing traders from opening new positions. Spot markets are no longer accepting new orders.

Copy trading, grid trading, API trading, and other automated services will be withdrawn in stages. Outstanding orders must be cancelled by users or will be removed by the exchange.

Open Futures Positions Face Settlement After August 26

Any futures position still open when trading ends may be settled using the applicable mark price, index price, or platform settlement rules.

BitMart said it will release separate details covering the final settlement process. That leaves users responsible for closing positions before the August 26 cutoff if they want to avoid exchange-managed settlement.

Withdrawals Will Continue With Additional Compliance Checks

The exchange has advised customers to complete identity verification, close positions before 01:00 UTC on August 26 and submit withdrawal requests by 05:00 UTC that day. Withdrawals will remain available after the recommended deadline, but later requests will move into a dedicated processing procedure.

Requests may face identity checks, device and IP reviews, source-of-funds questions, sanctions screening and blockchain risk assessments. BitMart warned that high demand, network congestion or requests for further documents could extend processing times.

Earn, Staking and Launchpad Will Close on Separate Schedules

Customers have been told to redeem eligible balances from Earn, staking, lending and other investment products.

Those services, along with Launchpad, will close under product-specific schedules communicated through separate notices.

The staged closures mean users may need to follow separate timelines for trading accounts, investment products and withdrawals.

BitMart Platform Operations End January 31, 2027

BitMart plans to terminate platform operations at 15:59 UTC on January 31, 2027. Users will retain login access for an unspecified period to review records and request withdrawals under the procedures in place at that time.

The company attributed the closure to an assessment of its operating conditions, the market environment and future strategy. It did not identify a single financial, regulatory or operational event behind the decision.

BMX fell nearly 60% after the announcement, based on market data. BitMart said customers should avoid the final deadline and keep copies of balances, deposit records, withdrawal history and trading data.
