Strategy Adds Bitcoin 200-Week Average Dashboard

Michael Saylor’s Strategy has added Bitcoin’s 200-week moving average and the cryptocurrency’s premium or discount to that level to its public corporate dashboard.

Bitcoin traded near $63,000 on Monday, slightly below the indicator at about $63,770. Saylor has linked the measure to how Strategy may balance future Bitcoin purchases with its U.S. dollar reserves.

Bitcoin Has Traded Above the Average 92% of the Time

The 200-week moving average tracks Bitcoin’s average weekly closing price over roughly four years, reducing the effect of shorter-term price volatility.

Saylor said Bitcoin has traded above the indicator 92% of the time since enough market history became available to calculate it. Bitcoin was almost level with the average when he announced the dashboard addition on Sunday before moving below it.

The indicator has not been introduced as an automatic purchase or sale trigger. It instead provides a public reference point showing how far Bitcoin is trading above or below its long-term average.

Saylor Ties the Metric to Bitcoin Purchases and $3.75B Cash Reserve

The dashboard update follows Strategy’s second-quarter earnings call, where management discussed taking a more active approach to balancing its Bitcoin holdings and cash reserves.

Saylor said Strategy intends to hold more dollars when Bitcoin trades at a substantial premium to the 200-week average. The company could become more willing to deploy capital into Bitcoin when the cryptocurrency trades below the indicator.

Strategy has established a $3.75 billion dollar reserve intended to cover more than two years of preferred-share dividends and interest payments. Its board has authorized Bitcoin sales to fund the reserve, meet financial obligations and support securities repurchases.

Strategy’s 843,775 BTC Trades Below Its $75,476 Average Cost

Strategy held 843,775 BTC as of July 26, acquired for $63.69 billion at an average price of $75,476 per coin.

At a Bitcoin price near $63,000, the holdings would be worth about $53 billion, placing the market price below Strategy’s average acquisition cost and the newly displayed 200-week moving average.

Strategy also reported selling $218.4 million in Bitcoin during 2026 to help fund preferred-share dividends. The company has not announced fixed trading rules tied to the dashboard metric, leaving future allocation decisions discretionary.
