HyperDragons knocks Cryptokitties down from number one DApp game on the Ethereum blockchain

HyperDragons has taken over as the most popular dapp game on the Ethereum blockchain, taking the title that CryptoKitties held for long.

Cryptocurrency is known for its volatility. The unpredictable nature of the industry does not just stop at the digital currencies, either. When it comes to the blockchain, not even the rankings of popular decentralized applications (DApps) remain the same.

As recent listings show, CryptoKitties used to sit at the forefront of the DApp games based on the blockchain Ethereum. The original cryptogame, however, has taken a knock down two positions.

The game is a collectible Ethereum-based trading game where tokens represent unique kitties on the blockchain. Each individual Kitty is associated with a unique 256-bit “genome”. And that genome is comprised of observable features (or phenotypes), and genetic features (or genotypes). When the CryptoKitties are bred, their appearance and constitution are the results of either parent’s traits.

According to Fortune, the average price of a CryptoKitty reached $41 USD a few months ago, and in June that figure sat closer to a much lower $5 USD.

Earlier this month, the game saw itself as the top popular game, but now it is sitting at the third.

In the second position, according to DappRadar, is Etheremon, which combines blockchain with virtual reality technology. According to its site, “Etheremon offers a gaming experience like never before.”

In this application, users can actually own the digital assets (well, it is cryptocurrency after all). However, unlike other cryptocurrency project’s Etheremon boasts a platform which ensures security and where “no one can influence or steal from you”. That’s the claim, at least.

Over the past 24 hours, Etheremon has seen a trading volume of 3.36 ETH from 392 users and holds a balance of 206.29 ETH on its network. This is comparable to CryptoKitties, which has a daily trading volume of 74.88 ETH over the past 24 hours from 367 users and holds a balance of 387.98 ETH on its network.

Sitting on the top tier is HyperDragons. The app plays as a blockchain-based strategy game where players can build kingdoms, gain funds, and fight dragons. Although it only has a daily trading volume of 2.04 ETH over the past 24 hours, it has seen 567 users on its network and now holds a balance of 41.73 ETH.
